With nearly a month since David Bowie passed, I am still reflecting on the loss of a musical hero. Hunky Dory is my favorite of all of Bowie’s albums.
After I don’t even know how many years of listening to it, I never really paid much attention to the lyrics until now. Such a beautiful song.
I decided to record a cover of “Eight Line Poem”:
The tactful cactus by your window
Surveys the prairie of your room
The mobile spins to its collision
Clara puts her head between her paws
They’ve opened shops down West side
Will all the cacti find a home
But the key to the city
Is in the sun that pins
the branches to the sky
Have a Listen. I hope you enjoy it.
